A little Bit About My Journey
I found myself in my second year of college and still undecided what I wanted to do with my life. I originally went into college as a nutrition major and quickly changed my mind, BUT what did I want to major in? I decided to take the business route and declared my major of International Business & Marketing. I quickly fell in love with Marketing and thought when I graduated I was going to immediately jump in the corporate world and make it big.
After working 3 years in the marketing field, I decided to go back to school for something completely different (anyone else been there!?) and I became a dental assistant in an Orthodontic office. Needless to say, I LOVED it, BUT I still missed the creative side of marketing. So, I started a blog on the side. It first started out as a fun project to share my writing and creativity but I quickly fell in love with it.
However, it was NOT easy. I longed for community and fell really hard into the comparison game.
I remember a time sending out 100 emails (YES, 100!) to other bloggers trying to build community and I heard back from THREE. Yes, seriously, ONLY THREE! I felt like giving up. I was tired of seeing all these other bloggers mimic each other and only care about themselves. I felt like I would look at their Instagrams and blogs and only see a ton of pictures in pretty clothes (that I couldn’t afford) and no depth or personality.
I was going to show the true & raw moments, make connections and build community and actually help others who asked for it. I was going to show the vulnerable & hard journey the Lord had me on in this blogging journey and life and hopefully inspire & encourage my readers. God had given me the marketing background and experience and the driven heart to help others, so I was going to GO for it.
So, I sat down and rebranded my blog. I narrowed down my focus and worked really hard. In a little over a year I was able to quit my full-time job and take this blog from hobby status to full time blogger (something I never thought I would do!). It truly has been a journey and God has pushed me everyday but it has been WORTH it.
The heart behind The Blog
Here on The Belle Life Blog, you will find bits and pieces of my heart.
I pride myself on ALWAYS being real and honest & connecting with you any way I can. I am not perfect, I don’t have it all together and I will never portray that I do. Most of my days are spent sipping coffee, wearing yoga pants & trying to rock the messy bun (it always seems to look like a spider on my head, anyone else!?). I want to live life with you, support you, inspire you, pray for you & encourage you. I want to motivate you and help you find your God given Purpose.
Why The Name “The Belle Life Blog”
The name The Belle Life is a combination of two meanings for me. The first draws from my Southern roots and the way of life for a Southern Belle. The second involves the meaning of the term “belle” which is actually french for beautiful.
To me a beautiful life is not always picture perfect, it is finding beauty in even the messy hard to deal with days and situations. It is also picking up the cross and following our Savior, trusting him and acknowledging him with all our heart even when we don’t understand his plan and knowing he will direct our paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6) Therefore on my blog you will find raw, honest and real parts of me and my life.
Enough About Me, What About You?
Let me guess…
You can feel it deep down in your heart that you were meant for more?
You feel you have a God-Given Purpose of sharing your story and talents with others, but you’re not sure how to make it happen?
Or maybe, You have a yearning in your soul to help others, grow your blog or business from hobby status to full-time career and create community?
I feel you girlfriend and I am here to help!
I was just like you a year ago. I was happy in my career but a part of me was missing. I felt God calling me to more but I didn’t know what.
You see, we were not created to just go to work and pay the bills. We were beautifully created by the almighty creator and he created us in HIS image. Therefore, we are creators! We were beautifully created to create something beautiful!
My hope is that through this blog you will see the beautiful life I create on a daily basis because of Jesus.
Its love and community through the tears and the triumphs!
I am so glad you’re here and I would LOVE to connect with you!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support.
