Welcome to my cozy corner of the internet!
My prayer is that you will find this little space of mine as a resource for your heart & soul. I hope my story can bring light in your life. That every word shines through the tiny cracks of the heart thats been hardened by the world.
Let’s be friends, shall we?
I’m Ashley Mae, a freckled faced home grown southern girl from middle of nowhere, NC. I am a wife to my husband Ben and a mama to my sweet daughter Emery Mae. For a glimpse inside my heart and who I really am, please visit my
So Why “The Belle Life”?
The term The Belle Life plays off of two ideas for me. The first being my homegrown Southern roots and the term Southern Belle. A Southern Belle can be defined as a woman who carries herself with modesty & class and is known for her genuine heart and southern drawl.
The second idea comes from the French word belle which means beautiful. Therefore, The Belle Life can translate to “The Beautiful Life”. To me, a beautiful life means all the raw, messy and real in-between moments celebrating the small things and sharing God’s love whenever I can. My life is ultimately beautiful because of Jesus Christ and whatever the reason you’re here, my hope is that my blog will inspire you and be a light that glorifies Him!
What Can You Find Here?
Here, you will find the bits and pieces of my heart. My passion is writing about my walk with the Lord and encouraging other women who like me, crave community and a safe space to let it all out. I write about my journey through marriage and becoming a first time mom and just everyday life in-between.
Since starting my blog, I have had SO many people reach out about how they can start their own blogs. Having an International Business and Marketing degree, my heart gets super giddy over creative marketing. You see, God created the world and then he created us in his image.. therefore we were created to create. Let that sink in a moment. How amazing is that!? One thing I quickly realized in this blogging world is that you can get lost in the numbers game, fall deep into the comparison trap and portray an unrealistic “picture perfect” image. To be honest, I was there for a while and for about 2 months I took a break to realign my heart with what God was calling me to do with my life. When I came back to blogging, I wanted to create a space where people felt their worth in Jesus. To remind them who they are in Christ and build a community whose heart beat the same as mine. I wanted to blog with purpose. So I decided to start posting and providing resources that would teach my readers to blog with an impact! I hope you find these posts to be extremely helpful!
To also help my fellow blogging sisters, I have created a FREE resource library with e-books, worksheets and checklists that I have used with my own blog.
I get emailed & asked a lot of the same questions, so I have complied a page answering everything from what type of camera I use to personal life.
One random thing about me is this Southern Belle also has a little love for affordable fashion and home decor. I kept getting so many questions on my instagram posts so I decided to incorporate my finds on my blog and make them easy to shop yourself!
